Dave Durocher was arrested for the first time at the age of thirteen. By the time he was 38, he had been to prison four times for a total of fifteen years. Dave was arrested yet again, and this time he was facing a twenty-nine-year prison sentence. In what the judge called “the chance of a lifetime” he afforded Dave the opportunity to go to Delancey Street instead of prison but reminded Dave in no uncertain terms that if he didn’t complete his commitment at Delancey Street he would be spending the rest of his life in prison.
 
Dave is tenacious, interpersonally skilled, a good manager, and an inspiring public speaker. He had helped countless others regain their dignity and their lives before he moved on to enjoy his own success as the person he had become.
 
Now Dave has moved on to the next chapter in his life as the Executive Director of The Other Side Academy, in Salt Lake City, a two-year Life Skills Academy similar to Delancey Street, where men and women can come to learn about honesty, accountability, integrity hard work, and self-respect. All the traits that will insulate them from a life like the one Dave had and enable them to become the kind of person Dave is today.

Jason English sits down with us to share his thoughts and views about the current situation in America.  Jason was born and raised in North Las Vegas, NV seeing any and everything “bad” associated with Las Vegas there was to see.  He always loved and played sports but being for a single parent income home with a sibling his mother couldn’t afford organized sports fees, so he didn’t play until high school.  Four years of hard work and sacrifice earned a football scholarship to Weber State University. Soft-spoken, kind-hearted always been in the mindset of hardworking and helping where he could.  Jason is married 16 years and 19 years of working in a field of service to others.

Corey Markisich is an inspiration!  Corey overcame an addiction to opiates and is a perfect example that you can achieve anything you set your mind to.  Corey originally graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor's of Finance Degree and further completed graduate work in Substance Abuse Counseling.  Some years later, he then went on and completed a Masters in Business Administration. Corey has sat on various Boards at agencies an organizations that deal with addiction and mental health issues. His education has allowed him to help create and operate treatment organizations, and at the same time allowed him to participate in the actual treatment process. When Corey is not working he loves to trail run and golf.  Corey has a beautiful family with a 12-year-old boy and a 10-year-old daughter and the most supportive wife that is always up for his crazy adventures and ideas.
