Yvonne Rodgers

Yvonne Rodgers has one most difficult stories I have listened to but her will and perseverance to prevail are awe-inspiring!  She is 57 years old and a survivor of domestic violence.  She is a mother of 3 children and has 3 wonderful grandchildren.  Yvonne has not always had things easy in her life but has always been a hard worker and supported herself.  One of her children dealt with meth and heroin addiction but is now 8 years clean and sober.  
 
Yvonne is on a mission to share her story of having been both mentally and physically abused by her ex-husband for several years. The last and final incident, in which he snapped my arm, which required nine screws and a plate,­ leaving me permanently disabled in my dominant arm.  It has taken a lot of time for me to finally realize that there is another course of action for me to take. I have been diagnosed with PTSD.  I have realized that healing for me is to tell my story and help other women, to get laws changed that protect victims of domestic violence whether they are women or men, and to hold prosecutors and the justice system accountable to the law.

Big Budah

You probably have seen Big Budah on TV for almost 2 decades as the first Samoan Feature Reporter in Utah on the live mainstream news. Most people recognize him for his all-natural positive energy and genuine excitement but he has battled after battled, searching for years to find a way to smile through the dark clouds of his mind. 
 
He has appeared in some feature movies like the RM & Forever Strong. He has opened as a stand-up comedian for Aries Spears, Bill Bellamy, and Tracy Morgan to name a few, but you know him because he has been a part of Utah’s media landscape for the last 20 years, and he’s not done. 
 
Currently, he is serving as Executive Director for his non-profit Budahful Mind Foundation and sharing his story of survival and his message of prevention and self-love & care.  Because of this struggle, Big Budah wants to help others who are suffering from depression, anxiety, or any mental health issue.  He has a heart of gold and his energy will inspire you to love and believe in yourself.

Cherice Ells

Cherice Nicole Ells has been through difficulties that would cause most of us to quit. Not Cherice!  She now holds her head high and shines bright for the whole world to witness.  Cherice is a daughter, granddaughter, co-parent, mother, and wife. She is an administrator for the non-profit Beyond Addiction Mosaic (B.A.M), an advocate for the unsheltered and addicted community, and the facility manager at Wasatch Recovery. She is also an addict in active recovery, with a former triple felony conviction and recently celebrated over 1,000 days sober.
 
Cherice discusses in detail her addiction, going to prison, being homeless, living in her car, and dealing and selling drugs on a daily basis.  She soon realized that failure was no longer an option. She landed a job in November of 2020 at Wasatch Recovery and quickly became a leader amongst her peers. She worked diligently to complete her court-ordered 200 hours of community service working with people in addiction and recovery. These opportunities helped her to find her passion — helping others find joy, happiness, and life through healing, sobriety, and self-care.
 
Cherice’s story will make you laugh, cry, and inspire you that anything is possible.  You are going to love her!

Randi Neal has overcome some of the most difficult situations a person can go through and her story of triumph will blow your mind.  You would never believe that Randi was arrested for selling drugs, meth addict for 5 years, a 2-time felon, homeless for 2 years, and had daily thoughts of ending her life.  She would have never thought her first drink would be able to numb the pain the way it did and start her path of destruction.
