Susan Peterson is a compassionate person. Susan’s compassion is fueled by the loss of her son to a drug overdose. She is on a mission to help as many people suffering from addiction. She is one of the founders of the Sobriety Foundation, a non-profit foundation where they connect and fund adults in need of treatment facilities and other community partners to achieve lifelong sobriety.
The Sobriety Foundation has funded over 1,200 people with Sober Living Scholarships, where struggling addicts can find a better way to live their lives. According to a Mental Health Annual Report, it showed that 134,172 adults in Utah needed treatment for drug or alcohol dependence, but the public system could only serve 13,400 individuals. That is why Susan created the Sobriety Foundation.
Susan is one of the best people you will ever meet and you will be touched by her vulnerability as she talks about the loss of her son and how she is now on a mission to change the world. Tune in, you will love her!

Kelly Owen

Monday Feb 28, 2022
Kelly Owen says that finding joy in the process is critical to a successful journey. “I am not scared of failing. I would instead try and fail than not try at all. Failing is a part of the process of learning and should be valued.” Kelly’s family motto is "I can do hard things." This saying has become sentimental to her family during various trials they have experienced through the years. During her doctorate, she realized that she can do hard things, but never alone.
Kelly is a school counselor, a Ph.D. candidate, a mother of four, a military wife, a runner, and a Georgia peach. She earned a bachelor's and master's degree in behavioral and learning disabilities. After teaching special education and then general education for ten years, she decided to stay home with her children. Kelly’s husband, a Blackhawk helicopter pilot for the Georgia National Guard, was deployed to Iraq as they welcomed their third daughter into their family.
Kelly has always loved the process of learning and has a passion for helping children feel loved, valuable, and teaching them they are capable of doing anything. Taking small steps of faith led her to discover her calling in life- counseling children through play therapy so they might find their voice and healing.
Kelly is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and currently serves as the Gospel Doctrine Teacher.
Outside of counseling and running, her most significant source of joy in this life lies with her family. You are going to absolutely love Kelly.

Roger & Ashley Bedsole
Friday Feb 25, 2022
Friday Feb 25, 2022
Ashley and Roger Bedsole have an unbelievable story of redemption and overcoming addiction together - they both share the same sobriety birthday. Two years after they were married, they were introduced to substances that would send them into an 8-year downward spiral of active addiction. They hid their problem from their family and friends. They eventually came clean and agreed to attend rehab- with one request. They wanted to go to rehab together.
Roger is a firefighter and has been in the fire service for almost 30 years. Ashley has been a stay-at-home mom for almost 12 years where she homeschools her 2 oldest boys while chasing around two toddlers every day.
Ashley started a blog in 2021, focused on addiction and recovery. Her personal journey has given her unique insight on recovering with a partner and her mission is to help as many families as she can navigate early recovery. She wants people to realize that recovery is NOT one size fits all. What works for you, be it with a partner or not, is okay. We all recover differently and she wants to break the stigma that surrounds couples and spouses. It IS possible. If you want it bad enough, anything is possible.
Ashley and Roger live in North Carolina with their four children and are doing great. Tune in and listen to their amazing story of redemption.

Courtney Anderson

Monday Feb 21, 2022
Courtney Anderson is one of the most caring and resilient individuals I have ever met. Courtney is a graduate of Brigham Young University, proud wife & mother to her "miracle baby" Sofia, a retired competitive pianist, host of the Glow Boss Podcast, inspiring mentor, and Founder/CEO of Spa Trouve, a full-service med spa with 5 locations in Utah.
Courtney discovered her passion for the med spa industry when she started her med spa back in 2011, and with some help from some very special people, and a lot of hard work, grit, and passion, she's been able to expand her brand across the state.
Courtney believes that the things that you are passionate about are not random, but they are your calling. This belief has carried through many difficult experiences as a business owner and has kept her propelling forward. Courtney also believes in the power of teamwork and finds the most joy in her work when she is growing, developing, and empowering others.
She is grateful to have had this opportunity to be on the Beliefcast with @tsinspires. Thank you, Todd! Tune in, you are going to love her!

Leslie Weirich
Thursday Feb 10, 2022
Thursday Feb 10, 2022
Leslie Weirich is a suicide prevention advocate warrior! On September 10th, 2016, Leslie and her husband awoke to the doorbell ringing and the news that their 20-year-old-son, Austin, had taken his life. It was the moment that changed everything.
Because of the unique circumstances surrounding her story, it would eventually capture the attention of national news. The response they received made her realize that her story was meant to be told. She states, “It has the power to save young lives and spare other parents the devastating loss we experienced.”
Telling her story about Austin to save others is what gets her up and going every single day. It’s her passion and it has become her life’s work. Leslie left her career as a successful financial recruiter and now speaks to thousands of people across the country about suicide prevention –sharing her story and giving practical tools to build resilience. In addition to traveling and speaking, she works as a Suicide Prevention Specialist for the community mental health center serving two local counties, where she is transforming suicide prevention in schools.
She often tells people that she will never stop grieving her son Austin. She will never stop tearing up when she tells his story. But she will tell it over and over again because it’s saving lives –and that gives her tremendous hope.
You can watch videos, listen to podcasts, or read articles on her Media page at www.leslieshope.org. You will cry, your mind and heart will expand, and you will be inspired by Leslie’s passion to help bring awareness to suicide prevention.

Scott Wilhelm
Thursday Feb 03, 2022
Thursday Feb 03, 2022
Meet Scott Wilhelm, sinner turned saint. From panhandling on the side of a highway off-ramp, to detox, treatment and bible college in a matter of 6 months.
Scott, with a decade and a half in active addiction, tells us how he went from heavy heroin addiction to speaking in churches, schools, and jails; sharing his message of hope and strength.
He now has 6 years of continuous sobriety. He was born and raised one hour north of Toronto; where he has been blessed with two beautiful children and a loving supporting wife. He’s now the owner of a successful pool installation company.
Scotts hopes are that his story can help to show how addiction is a progressive disease. How choices he made in high school and his early 20’s snowballed into 15 years of pain, loss, and complete isolation from everyone he loved.
He’s now turned that pain into his story of recovery by building a solid foundation through faith in God, a 12-step recovery, and living a life of integrity.

Ashely Garbe Smith
Monday Jan 24, 2022
Monday Jan 24, 2022
Ashley Garbe Smith is an amazing person who has turned tragedy into triumph. Ashley graduated from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University. Before founding AGS Law, Ashley worked for a boutique litigation firm for several years as an associate, law clerk, and even a legal assistant before attending law school.
Ashley founded AGS Law because she wanted to focus on helping clients protect their businesses, assets, and families from being subject to lawsuits rather than fighting with other lawyers in court. Ashley saw new opportunities to provide modern, innovative legal services in the areas of business, dental law, and estate planning.
Ashley is also a professional musician who has toured nationally with several bands as a keyboardist and singer. She wrote and produced her own album in 2012 and continues to perform every once in a while, for fun.
Ashley is also a speaker and frequent podcast and radio guest, speaking on various topics, including estate planning, entrepreneurship, communication and negotiation skills, scams, turning tragedy into triumph, and empowering women. She loves listening to podcasts and spending time outdoors with her two active boys and husband.
